Jahn's program-record 68 highlights day one of Kiawah Island Spring Classic

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Senior Reagan Jahn made the Lehigh women's golf team's first competitive round of the spring a memorable one, carding a program record 68 on Sunday to take the day one lead at the three-day, 54-hole Kiawah Island Spring Classic. Jahn carded five birdies and a bogey on the course at Oak Point Golf Club to break the program low competitive round of 70, set by Crystal Lee in the 2011 Roar-EE Invitational.

As a team, the Mountain Hawks shot 306 in their first fall round and are tied for 24th place in a 49-team field.
With all players going off on a shotgun start, Jahn began her day on the fourth hole at Oak Point and birdied three of her first five holes. Jahn added a birdie at 10 and made her fifth birdie of the day on 17. Her only blemish Sunday was a bogey on the par 3 11th hole.
Jahn's classmate Aileen Jeong was Lehigh's second-lowest player on Sunday, carding a two over par 74. Jeong birdied 14 and 15 and finished her day with a birdie on the fourth hole and is tied for 54th place.
Junior Minuette Laessig also made three birdies in her first round and sits in a tie for 91st place with a four over par 76. Classmate Rebecca Markunas made a pair of birdies Sunday and is in a tie for 234th place after shooting 88. Sophomore Angela Ding carded a 90 and is tied for 239th place.
Coastal Carolina shot two under par 286 to lead the team standings after 18 holes. The Chanticleers lead Delaware by two strokes, while Tulsa and Stetson are tied for third place. Lehigh is one of five Patriot League teams competing on Kiawah Island.
The Kiawah Island Spring Classic continues Monday. Lehigh will switch over to the Osprey Point Golf Club and will once again play alongside Towson. The Mountain Hawks will play in the afternoon wave, with players going off 12, 13, 14 and 15 beginning at 1:30 p.m.
