BETHLEHEM, Pa. — After a 2-0 week of play heading into the final matchup of the 2019 regular season, junior Trevor Koski was named Patriot League Midfielder of the Week and senior Will Smith was named Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Koski scored the equalizer goal in Lehigh's 2-1 overtime victory over Holy Cross on Saturday. Off a bicycle kick from Ikem Mbalewe, Koski put away the ball to tie the game at 1 in the 82nd minute, forcing OT for just the fourth time this season. The goal was Koski's fourth of the season, putting himself in sole possession of second on the team for goal scoring this season. The award is also his second of the season after earning Midfielder of the Week honors after the first week of action.
For Smith, he was excellent in net this past week, finishing the week 2-0 after wins over Rutgers and Holy Cross. On Saturday, Smith recorded six saves on 12 shots and allowed just one goal in the Mountain Hawks' 2-1 overtime victory over the Crusaders, clinching a first-round bye into the Patriot League Semifinals for the second consecutive season. The award is Smith's third of the season and his Patriot League-record 10th of his career.
Sophomore forward Josh Luchini and sophomore defender Nick Jennings were named honorable mentions for their efforts.
