Lehigh Looks Forward To Coast-To-Coast Battle In Beantown Race

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After winning their dual meet against rival Lafayette last Saturday in Easton,Pa., the Lehigh women's cross country team prepares for a trip north to Boston, Mass. for the Coast-To-Coast Battle in Beantown this Friday, Saturday 21.
Lehigh stays in the top-15 teams in the Mid-Atlantic region for the third straight week, as it currently sits ranked 12th. Patriot League foes Bucknell (8) and Navy (10) are ahead of the Mountain Hawks with American (13) the remaining Patriot League squad in the top-15.
Last year saw the Mountain Hawks finish 16th overall, with senior Maura Henderson leading the Mountain Hawks over the 5K course, finishing 35th overall with a time of 18:00.5.
Also competing with the Mountain Hawks in Boston will be plenty of regionally ranked opponents. Those Include Bucknell (Mid-Atlantic), Brown (Northeast), Umass Lowell (Northeast), Umass Amherst (Northeast), Harvard (Northeast), Georgia Tech (South), Virginia (Southeast), Syracuse (Northeast) and Wake Forrest (Southeast) to name a few.
Winning 17-45 over Lafayette last week, junior Diana Hammerstone recorded her first Collegiate cross country win, as she set the pace with her time of 22:51.83. Finishing first among freshmen, Jade Sessions was named Patriot league Rookie Runner Of The Week after her sixth place finish and time of 23:32.9.
