Bonaguidi Leads Mountain Hawks with Second Place Finish

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lehigh women's cross country team began their season competing in the Bison Open, hosted by Bucknell University.
Competing in a strong Mid-Atlantic region, Lehigh came in ranked 15th in the preseason coaches poll.
Sophomore Hannah Bonaguidi wasted no time setting the pace, as she finished second behind Grace West of Navy with a time of 14:13.0. The next three highest finishers for the Mountain Hawks were all freshmen, as Jamie Zamrin finished 14th with a time of 14:22.2, Nicole Abbondandelo finished 21st with a time of 14:31.4 and Jade Sessions finished 27th with a time of 14:36.0.
Lehigh had three more runners place in the top-50, as sophomore Hannah Knudsen placed 39th with a time of 14:56.9, senior Stephanie Hayes finished 42nd with a time of 14:57.5 and freshman Martina Sell placed 46th with a time of 15:02.8.
The Brown and White will venture back to Bucknell once more this season, as the Patriot League Championship will be hosted by the Bison on Saturday, October 27.
Next up however is the annual dual meet with Lafayette, which will be on Saturday, September 15 in Easton, Pa.
