Mountain Hawks Start Strong at Bison Open

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Lehigh men's cross country squad competed in their first meet of the season, making the trip to Lewisburg to take part in the Bison Open hosted by Bucknell University.
Coming into Friday's meet, Lehigh was ranked ninth in the preseason coach's poll in the Mid-Atlantic region, a position they finished in last season.
Of their top-three finishers, two were sophomores and one a freshman, with Avery Lederer finishing 15th with a time of 19:26.4 in his first race with the Brown and White. Sean Brown and Eric Kersten, both sophomores, finished 18th and 23rd, respectively with times of 19:28.0 and 19:33.2.
The Mountain Hawks would see another five runners finish in the top-50, with junior Ryan Paradise finishing 35rd, freshman Ethan Koza finishing 43rd, freshman Jack Good finishing 44th, freshman Kyle Burke finishing 45th and sophomore Nick Norton finishing 47th.
Lehigh will return two more times to Lewisburg, with the Mountain Hawks taking part in the Bucknell Invitational on Friday, October 19 along with the Patriot League Championship on Saturday, October 27.
Up next for the Brown and White is a dual meet against arch rival Lafayette in Easton, Pa., on Saturday, September 15.
