HAVERFORD, Pa. - Lehigh's men's cross country team hit the road for their first away meet. The Mountain Hawks traveled to Haverford College on Friday evening to compete at the Haverford Main Line Invitational. The Mountain Hawks were without a full team however, only sending seven runners to compete in the four-mile race. Lehigh placed seventh out of eleven teams.

All seven of Lehigh's runners finished within one minute of each other. The group was led by seniors Dan Malatesta and Connor Malinger. The pair both finished at the 20:39 mark, but Malatesta was a hundredth of a second faster, giving him 30th place to Malinger's 31st.

Sophomore Ben Connell was the next Mountain Hawk to finish, placing 36th. The lone underclassman didn't finish too far behind the two leaders, crossing the line in 20:46.3. Derek Coceano (20:53.5) and Dylan Cunningham (21:01.3) were the final two of the scoring five to finish. The two juniors finished in 40th and 45th respectively.

Senior Henry Burd was Lehigh's sixth finisher, coming in 50th place with a time of 21:09.7. Junior Thomas Smigo rounded out Lehigh's entries in 55th place, finishing in 21:21.

The Mountain Hawks are back at home for their next competition. Lehigh will host the 51st Paul Short Run on Friday, October 3rd.
