Parker Boyd named Patriot League Pitcher of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh sophomore Parker Boyd garnered the first Patriot League softball weekly award for the Mountain Hawks in 2018 as she was named the league's Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday. Boyd allowed just two runs over 13 innings with 16 strikeouts as she earned both victories in the Mountain Hawks' home and league-opening 2-1 series win against Colgate.
This is the first career Patriot League weekly award for Boyd.
Boyd opened the Lehigh-Colgate series by allowing a run on three hits over six innings with a career-high nine strikeouts. She shut out the Raiders over the first five innings as Lehigh won the opener 9-1 in six innings.
The Battle Ground, Wash., native helped Lehigh to the series win, allowing a run on six hits with seven strikeouts as the Mountain Hawks rallied for a 3-1 win in Monday's series finale.
For the season, Boyd is now 5-8 with a 3.70 ERA. She leads the Mountain Hawks in victories, ERA, innings pitched (75.2) and strikeouts (65).
The Mountain Hawks (6-16, 2-1 Patriot League) will play at Penn in a single game Tuesday before resuming league play with three games against Lafayette at Leadership Park March 31-April 1.
