Polignano Named Patriot League Track and Field Rookie Of The Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa – The men's track and field team picked up their first weekly accolade, as freshman Vincent Polignano was named the Male Rookie of the Week, the Patriot League office announced Tuesday.
In just the second meet of the indoor season, Polignano set a mark of 1.95-meters (6'4.75'') in the high jump during the Fast Times Before Finals at Rauch Fieldhouse this past weekend. His jump of 1.95-meters is currently the third highest recorded in the Patriot League this season.
"It's always nice to be recognized by the league. Vinny's very coachable and he's made some great adjustments as we've started the season, there's a lot more to come from him," said head coach Matt Utesch.
Lehigh sees action next on January 12 as it hosts the Angry Birds Meet.
