Mountain Hawks Travel Once More To Lewisburg for Patriot League Championship

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After competing in six meets this season ranging from Boston, Mass. to Princeton, N.J., the men's cross country team looks to put it all on the line as they get ready for the 2018 Patriot League Championship, hosted by Bucknell in Lewisburg, Pa.
Coming into the championship, five Patriot League schools are ranked in USTFCCCA regional rankings, with Bucknell (14), Lehigh (13) and Navy (6) from the Mid-Atlantic region. The Northeast region features Boston U. (7) and Army West Point (3).
Lehigh should be right at home with the course at Bucknell, with the Mountain Hawks visiting Lewisburg twice this year, competing in the Bison Open to begin the year on August 31 and most recently the Bucknell Tuneup on October 19.
The Mountain Hawks have seen success from multiple runners this year, with four different runners placing first amongst the team. Jeffrey Kirshenbaum, Brad DeMassa, Brian Arita and Avery Lederer have all finished first for Lehigh this year.
Last season Lehigh finished sixth in the championship, with Kirshenbaum leading the charge with an 11th place overall finish with a time of 24:37.6.
Bucknell has hosted the Patriot League Championship three previous time, with the Bison playing host in 1994,1998 and 2004.
As a team, Lehigh has won the Patriot League Championship just once since the league was founded in 1990, with the Mountain Hawks claiming victory in 2012.
The Mountain Hawks will run at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 27.
