Lehigh ties for fifth at Brown Bear Invitational

SEEKONK, Mass. – The Lehigh women's golf team began the final round of the Brown Bear Invitational tied for fifth place with Albany and after both teams shot 307 in the final round Monday at Ledgemont Country Club, the Mountain Hawks and Great Danes finished tied for fifth in a competitive 12-team field at 611.
 
Senior Reagan Jahn led the way for the Mountain Hawks, tying for sixth place at three over par 147 (74-73). Jahn's final round featured three birdies as she led Lehigh for the second straight tournament.
 
The second lowest score for the Mountain Hawks Monday was turned in by sophomore Angela Ding, who shot 74 to move into a tie for 21st at 153 (79-74).
 
Senior Aileen Jeong led Lehigh with a 73 on Sunday but shot 82 Monday to finish in a tie for 30th at 155.
 
Junior Minuette Laessig finished with a 78 to tie for 41st place at 159 (81-78), while freshman Alexis Carras finished at 164 (78-86) and tied for 55th place. Laessig and Ding also matched Jahn with three birdies on Monday.
 
Princeton stormed to a final round of two under par 286 to move from third place after Sunday's first round to the team title at 589 (303-286). The Tigers bested runner-up Quinnipiac by 15 strokes.
 
Linda Wang of St. John's shot a final round 69 to earn medalist honors at two under par 142 (73-69). Wang posted a two-stroke win over two players from Princeton.
 
The Mountain Hawks will close out their fall season when they host the Lehigh Invitational on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club, Oct. 21-22.
