
Seniors pace Lehigh on day one of Brown Bear Invitational

SEEKONK, Mass. – The Lehigh women's golf team opened play at the Brown Bear Invitational Sunday with a round of 304, which has the Mountain Hawks tied for fifth place in a 12-team field. Lehigh's two seniors finished the day within two strokes of par at Ledgemont Country Club to lead the way for the Brown and White.
Senior Aileen Jeong is tied for eighth place at one over par 73. Jeong carded three birdies in her round including two on the back nine to post the low round of the day for Lehigh. Classmate Reagan Jahn matched Jeong with three birdies on Sunday, but finished the round at 74 and is tied for 12th place.
Freshman Alexis Carras is the third-lowest Mountain Hawk as she shot six over par 78 and is tied for 31st place. Carras' round included two birdies, on holes 10 and 15.
Sophomore Angela Ding made birdies on holes 4 and 6 and was one over on the front, but finished at seven over 79 and is tied for 36th place.
Junior Minuette Laessig is tied for 51st place after shooting 81. Laessig made one birdie on Sunday, on the 7th hole.
Fairleigh Dickinson shot nine over par 297 to take the team lead by three strokes over host Brown, while Princeton and Quinnipiac are tied for third, one stroke ahead over Lehigh and Albany.
Brown's Pinya Pipatjarasgit shot two under par 70 to take the individual lead by one stroke over Albany's Megan Henry.
The Brown Bear Invitational concludes Monday with the final 18 holes from Ledgemont Country Club.
