BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh and the other five Patriot League institutions that sponsor women's golf battled through wet, raw conditions on day one of the Patriot League Championship, Saturday at Saucon Valley Country Club. An opening round 314 for the Mountain Hawks was followed by a 318 in the afternoon as Lehigh sits in a tie for third place in the six team field at 632.

Senior captain Elizabeth McGarrigle led the Mountain Hawks on day one with back-to-back rounds of 77 to sit in eighth place in 10 over par 154. Lehigh is tied with Navy for third place with both teams chasing Boston University and defending champion Richmond. The Spiders opened the tournament with a 298, but Boston University erased a 15 stroke deficit, shooting 295 in the afternoon to take a two stroke lead into Sunday's final round. The Terriers are at 608 (313-295), while Richmond is at 610 (298-312).

McGarrigle was one of three Mountain Hawks to card three birdies on the day and an impressive afternoon round was marred only by a triple bogey on the 17th hole.

Sophomore Reagan Jahn is also in the top 10 after day one as she sits in ninth place at 155. Jahn birdied two of her first four holes on the way to a morning 77 then shot 78 in the afternoon.

Junior Megan Moylan sits in third position among Lehigh players at 161, which has her tied for 17th place. Moylan's best stretch was a 38 on the back nine in her second round, which began on the 10th hole.

Separated by one stroke at 165 and 166, respectively are freshman Minuette Laessig and sophomore Aileen Jeong, last year's Patriot League Rookie of the Year. Laeissig posted rounds of 81 and 84 while Jeong opened with a 79 but had trouble getting untracked in the afternoon as she shot 87. McGarrigle, Jahn and Jeong all had three birdies over their 36 holes on Saturday.

Lehigh's sixth scoring player is freshman Rebecca Markunas, who posted rounds of 83 and 92 and sits in 29th place.

Two-time defending Patriot League Individual Champion Adela Cejnarova of Boston University holds the 36-hole individual lead at one over par 145, with her second round 71 the low round of the day. Cejnarova holds a five stroke lead over teammate Phyllis Tang and Richmond's Isabella Rusher heading into the final round.

The Patriot League Championship concludes on Sunday with the final 18 holes of play beginning at 8:30 a.m. on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
