Lehigh completes first 36 holes at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The Lehigh women's golf team posted a solid opening round 307 Monday morning in the opening round of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, but a second round 319 in the afternoon has the Mountain Hawks tied for  13th out of 22 teams at the Kingsmill Resort. With a 36-hole score of 626, Lehigh sits just nine strokes outside the top 10 heading into the final day Tuesday.

While three of Lehigh's five scoring players broke 80 in the morning round, just two, freshman Minuette Laessig and junior Megan Moylan were able to do so in the afternoon. Sophomore Reagan Jahn led Lehigh in round one with a two over par 74 and remains the low Mountain Hawk after 36 holes at 10 over par 154 (74-80). Jahn is tied for 37th place.

Sophomore Aileen Jeong opened with a 76 and is tied for 53rd place at 157 (76-81). Senior Elizabeth McGarrigle also shot 81 in the afternoon, and opened with a 77 to sit in a tie for 62nd at 158.

Laessig's afternoon 79 paired with a morning 80 for a total of 159, good for a tie for 69th place. Like Laessig, Â Moylan improved upon her morning score in the afternoon, following up an 84 with an 79 to sit in a tie for 92nd place at 163.

Liz Choi of host William & Mary holds the 36-hole lead at one under par 143 with rounds of 71 and 72. She leads Maddison Cox of James Madison by one stroke. Cox fired an opening round 68 before shooting 76 in the afternoon.

Ball State leads the team race at 17 over par 593 (300-293). The Cardinals lead Richmond by six strokes while Marshall is third with 601.
