BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In a tightly-contested battle that came down to the very end, the Lehigh women's golf team held off Fairleigh Dickinson by one stroke to win the Lehigh Invitational, which wrapped up Monday on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.

The Mountain Hawks shot 308 on Monday to finish at 612 (304-308) on the way to their second consecutive Lehigh Invitational title. Fairleigh Dickinson finished with a 305 to come in at 613 (308-305), while Monmouth finished third at 625 (316-309).

"It wasn't our best round of the season but we did enough to win," Lehigh head coach Mary Kate Lynch said. "It's exciting to be able to win our home tournament in back-to-back years."

Lehigh was led by junior Reagan Jahn, who shot 73 on Monday, the lowest round for a Lehigh player in the 36-hole event, to finish in a three-way tie for second place at five over par 149 (76-73). Classmate Aileen Jeong made a key birdie on the 18th hole to finish at 153 (76-77) and tie for sixth, while sophomore Minuette Laessig delivered two steady rounds of 77 to tie for eighth at 154. Jeong led Lehigh with six birdies on the weekend, while Jahn and Laessig tied with a team-best 23 pars over 36 holes.

Senior Megan Moylan was Lehigh's top player on Sunday with a 75. She shot 81 on Monday to finish at 156 and tie for 10th place. Freshman Alexis Browne finished in 31st place at 168 after carding back-to-back rounds of 84.

Sophomore Rebecca Markunas competed as an individual and finished in 33rd place at 172 (83-89).

"It was a great team effort," Lynch said. "Everyone contributed. It's a great way to end the fall and moving into the spring we'll have a lot of positives to build on."

Haley Goodling of Monmouth was the individual medalist at two over par 146 after back-to-back rounds of 73. She beat Jahn, Gabriela Santini of FDU and Maria Loza of Hartford by three strokes.

The Lehigh Invitational completes a fall season in which Lehigh finished first, second, third and fourth in its four tournaments. The Mountain Hawks will return to action in March for their spring campaign.

"We had a different player leading us every week, which was really cool to see," Lynch said. "Everyone played great and we have a lot to build on as we head into the spring season."
