Lehigh Announces Mountain Hawk Madness for Nov. 2

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In anticipation of the upcoming basketball season, Lehigh University, the Department of Athletics and Lehigh After Dark will be hosting Mountain Hawk Madness on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 9 p.m. in Grace Hall. The event will feature a live DJ, free food, free t-shirts for the first 400 students, a knockout game featuring Lehigh students, a slam dunk contest, lawn/tailgating games and more. The event is free to all Lehigh students and the public and is also sponsored by the President's Office.
Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. and the event will tip off at 9 p.m. with free food and live music from Lehigh's own DJ Mike. Former Lehigh swimming student-athlete Justin White '17 will serve as emcee for the event. Following the introductions of Lehigh's men's and women's basketball teams, a giant game of knockout will commence featuring numerous student contestants along with several chosen players from the men's and women's basketball teams.
The night will also feature a three-point shooting contest, followed by a dunk contest that will include members of the Lehigh men's basketball team and also involve a select Lehigh student. Contestants will be judged by a panel of Lehigh guests that includes President Simon, Executive Director of Student Auxiliary Services David Joseph and several others, plus a student that will be selected via a dunking contest on social media. Details on the slam dunk social media contest will be released in the next week.
Following the basketball events, all students are invited to hang out in Grace Hall and take part in various tailgating/yard game such as corn hole and ladder golf, and enjoy more music and food.
Both Lehigh basketball teams will open up the season in less than three weeks on Nov. 11 with the men traveling to take on Marist and the women playing at Minnesota.
