Lehigh Earns Five Victories at Muhlenberg Invitational

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Lehigh men's track and field team earned five individual victories on Saturday at the Muhlenberg Invitational. The unscored meet featured over a dozen schools, including Division I foes Lafayette, Seton Hall and Princeton.
Lehigh grabbed three wins in field events courtesy of Tyler John and Beau Whitman tying for first in the pole vault (4.27m), Daniel Reichenbach in the triple jump (13.82m) and Lucas Warning in the shot put (16.33m).
Ryan Givens led the way with a second place high jump (1.93m) and added a third place finish in the long jump. Reichenbach's strong day continued in the long jump, leading the team with a second place jump of 6.51m.
Cody Israel (2nd/13.59m) and Michael Camera (3rd/13.53m) competed in the triple jump and Christopher Foley landed in fourth place of the shot put (13.77m).
In addition to his shot put victory, Warning tallied a fourth place toss in the discus (43.04m).
On the track, the Mountain Hawks grabbed a win from Seamus Cullinane in the 800m run, as he topped the field of 44 competitors with a winning time of 1:59.50. Ryan Cooney ran a strong race as well, finishing sixth (2:00.84).
The Brown and White notched another track victory from Scott Mason in the 3,000m steeplechase (9:41.98), with David Mugavero following closely behind in third (10:07.85).
In the sprints, Michael Camera led the way for Lehigh in sixth place of the 100 meter dash (11.15), one spot ahead of teammate Jake Sabatini. Sabatini then led the team in the 200m dash, with a ninth place time of 23.15.
Clay Stabolepszy landed on the podium in third place of the 400m dash (50.79), one spot and three-hundredths of a second ahead of teammate, James Clements.
The squad turned in a well-rounded effort in the 1500m run, as Brian Arita finished in third place (4:03.44), with Henry Paul's time of 4:04.10 getting him into the top five. Nicholas Hirdt took ninth place, with Kyle Berman finishing 11th, followed by Kyle Leonard, Christopher Mascetti and Samuel Layding, who all helped Lehigh place seven runners in the top 14 of the 47-man race.
Jack Curran notched seventh place as the only Lehigh competitor in the 5K (15:47.48).
Fritz Isaac and Ryan Givens finished second and third, respectively in the 110 meter hurdles, while senior Andrew Culkin led the way in fourth place of the 400 hurdles.
The Mountain Hawks will compete again next Saturday in their annual dual meet against Lafayette. The action will get underway at 11:30 a.m. at the Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex in Easton.
