Men's Soccer Set for Tuesday Trip to Fordham

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team will take a brief break from its Patriot League slate in a nonconference matchup with Fordham on the road on Tuesday night. Kickoff in the Bronx is slated for 7 p.m.

Lehigh is 4-8-1 entering Tuesday's tilt and is looking to snap a two-game skid following losses to Patriot League foes Army West Point and Loyola. Last Saturday night, the Mountain Hawks suffered a 2-1 setback on the road to the PL's top squad in Loyola. The Greyhounds tallied two first half goals to put Lehigh in a hole it could not recover from despite a second half tally by Mark Forrest.
The Mountain Hawks are led offensively by Forrest who now has 13 points on five goals and three assists. Doyle Tuvesson has also provided a spark offensively with a team-high four assists to go with one goal for a total of six points.
Fordham is 5-4-3 on the season and is riding a two-game win streak with wins over A-10 opponents Duquesne and La Salle last week. The Rams produced a 6-0 scoring differential in those two games. Fordham blew out Duquesne at home last Tuesday night with a 5-0 victory before holding onto a 1-0 advantage for 83 minutes to defeat La Salle this past Saturday afternoon on the road.
Janos Loebe leads the Rams offensively with 13 points on four goals and five assists. Jannik Loebe is also a key contributor offensively with a team-high four assists to go with two goals for eight points.
Lehigh is 2-4-0 on the road this season and 3-4-1 in nonconference games. Fordham is 3-2-0 on its home turf this season and 3-3-2 against nonconference opponents. The Mountain Hawks are 2-1 in nonconference road games, while Fordham is 3-2 against nonconference opponents at home.
The Brown and White is 7-3-2 against the Rams in the all-time series. Lehigh won last season's meeting, 3-0, at the Ulrich Sports Complex. The two teams last met in the Bronx in 2011 with Fordham claiming the 1-0 victory.
