BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's and women's swimming and diving teams will compete for the final time before the Patriot League Championships this Saturday. The Mountain Hawks will travel to Philadelphia to take on Drexel in their first meet in two weeks after being snowed out last weekend. The meet is scheduled for a noon start at the Daskalakis Athletic Center (Drexel Pool) and a live video stream will be available.

Both Lehigh clubs are coming off wins over Loyola (Md.) on January 16 at Jacobs Pool. The men (5-4, 3-2 Patriot) used four wins from Jacob Moyar, three from Justin White and two each from Justin Kostelnik and Jamal Willis to cruise to a 172-121 victory.

The women (6-2, 5-2 Patriot) captured wins in 13 of 14 swim events to power their way to a 199-94 triumph. Kaitlyn Ruffing tied a pool record in the 100 yard freestyle and led the team with four wins on the day. Sophomore Julianne Koch and junior Kelly Carroll added three wins apiece, while seniors Melissa Feeney and Courtney Patterson each tallied a pair of victories.

Drexel was represented by four student-athletes at this year's AT&T U.S. National Championships. Senior Joel Berryman competed in three events, including the 100 meter free against Lehigh's Justin White and Jamal Willis. Berryman finished 68th overall, 0.36 seconds behind Willis and 0.49 seconds behind White. Drexel senior Kyle Lukens also competed in the 100 fly (41st/55.47) and sophomore J.T. Lumpkin competed in the 100 back (59.26). Junior Rachel Bernhardt represented the women in the 100 and 200 breaststroke.

The Drexel men enter the matchup this week at with a record of 7-3, including a 2-0 mark against Patriot League opponents. Like the Mountain Hawks, Drexel tabbed wins earlier this season over Lafayette (195-103) and Loyola (Md.) (159-140). The Dragons have won their last five meets in a row, including a 177-122 win at Georgetown last Thursday. Lukens was named the Colonial Athletic Association Swimmer of the Week after winning both the 100 and 200 butterfly at Georgetown last week. His 100 fly time of 50.34 set a new pool record at Georgetown, and he also helped capture first place in the 200 medley relay. Lukens is the school record holder in all three events.

Berryman earned the conference's Swimmer of the Week honors on January 12 after winning the 50 and 100 freestyles, as well as the 400 free relay and swimming the backstroke leg of the 400 medley relay. Berryman is the school's record holder in the 50 free (20.09), 100 free (43.77), 100 back (47.54) and 200 back (1:48.67). Fellow senior David Sanchez has also been crowned the CAA Diver of the Week twice this season.

Drexel's women enter the weekend with a 5-6 overall mark, coming off a 168-127 setback at Georgetown. Bernhardt represented the Dragons at the Winter Nationals, competing in the 100 and 200 meter breaststroke. She placed 27th of 77 overall in the 100 breast (1:10.83) and 32nd overall in the 200 breast (2:36.43). She earned All-CAA honors last season after placing second overall in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke at the CAA Championships. Senior diver Madison Kramer has had success on both boards and has been named the conference's Diver of the Week twice this season.

After Saturday, Lehigh will have over two weeks to prepare for the Patriot League Championships, which will take place at Navy on Feb 17-20.
