BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh plays its final non-league game and the last of three consecutive games against Ivy League opponents as the Mountain Hawks host Yale Saturday on Homecoming at Goodman Stadium. The Mountain Hawks are looking to bounce back from a 52-26 loss at Princeton, which dropped their record to 2-2. Lehigh gained 561 yards of total offense against the Tigers but four turnovers allowed Princeton to pull away in the second half. Sophomore Troy Pelletier set a school record with 15 receptions, while freshman Dom Bragalone had his first career 100-yard rushing game.

Yale is off to a 2-0 start this season thanks to a pair of come-from-behind victories. The Bulldogs rallied from 14 points down to win their opener at Colgate, then overcame a 26-7 hole to rally past Cornell. Yale was picked third in the Ivy preseason poll after an 8-2 campaign last year. Quarterback Morgan Roberts, a second-team All-Ivy selection a year ago leads the offense, while team captain Cole Champion, a strong safety, anchors the defense. Yale is averaging 332 passing yards per game, with receivers Robert Clemons III and Michael Siragusa Jr. combining for 24 catches and 314 yards. Chandler Rich leads the rushing attack with 122 yards in two games. Victor Egu leads the defense with 21 tackles.

Freshman tailback Dominick Bragalone had his best rushing day as a Mountain Hawk against Princeton, gaining 129 yards on 21 carries including his first career rushing touchdown. Bragalone became the second Lehigh freshman in as many weeks to rush for 100-plus yards in a game after it hadn't previously happened since 2000 when Dave Wilson rushed for 154 versus Fordham. A two-time Patriot League Rookie of the Week, Bragalone has 237 rushing yards and 171 receiving yards through four games. This week marked the first time this season a Lehigh running back did not win the league's Rookie of the Week award. Micco Brisker was recognized on September 21 after rushing for 114 yards against Penn.

An injury limited sophomore wide receiver Troy Pelletier to just three receptions in Lehigh's first two games, but Pelletier's production has exploded with 25 receptions in the Mountain Hawks' last two games, highlighted by a school-record 15 catches at Princeton. Pelletier gained 158 yards against the Tigers and caught his fourth touchdown of the season. A week earlier against Penn, Pelletier had ten catches for 109 yards and two scores. Pelletier caught 49 passes as a freshman and led the Mountain Hawks with 815 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2014. The New Hampshire native was one of 20 finalists for the Jerry Rice Award, given to the top first year player in the FCS. Lehigh's previous single game reception record was 14, a mark established six times by five different players, most recently Lee Kurfis at Columbia in 2013. Lehigh Hall of Famer Rennie Benn '86 caught 14 passes in a game on two separate occasions.

Through four games this season, the numbers indicate that when Lehigh's defense plays well, the Mountain Hawks win and when they struggle, the Mountain Hawks lose. In two victories, Lehigh's defense has allowed an average of 375 yards and 17.5 points per game. In those games the Mountain Hawks have five sacks and have allowed opponents to convert just 25 percent (8-of-24) third downs. In two losses, Lehigh is yielding an average of 548.5 yards and 53.5 points per game. The Mountain Hawks have just two sacks in two losses, with opponents converting 56 percent of their third downs in those two games.

In recognition of competition between Lehigh University (founded 1865) and Yale University (founded 1701), the lifetime achievements of their graduates, and the generations of families that have attended both universities, the Yank Townsend Trophy is presented to the winner of the Lehigh - Yale football game.  Charles Frederick Townsend was the only student from Connecticut to enter the Lehigh Class of 1895, earning the nickname "Yank" He graduated with a bachelor of science degree in architecture and engineering, operated his own firm, Norton & Townsend from 1911-1960, and designed a number of bank buildings and colonial residences.  Yank Townsend (1873-1963) was a devotee of Lehigh and Yale athletics, and today a trophy bearing his name is presented to the winner for the sixth time. Yale initially won the trophy in 2006 and successfully retained it twice, before Lehigh captured the trophy for the first time in 2011.

Lehigh and Yale have met 22 previous times with the Bulldogs leading the series 16-6. This series has been highlighted by streaks, as Yale won the first 12 meetings and then the Mountain Hawks won the next five. Yale has now won four of the last five games. Andy Coen is just 1-4 versus the Bulldogs

Saturday's game kicks off just after 12:30 on Homecoming at Goodman Stadium. The game will also be part of Lehigh's Sesquicentennial celebration as the university celebrates its 150th anniversary.
