American Sports Network to broadcast a Lehigh men’s and women’s basketball game

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - American Sports Network is set to broadcast a pair of Mountain Hawk basketball games in 2016. Holy Cross at Lehigh women's basketball kicks off ASN's coverage while the Mountain Hawk men's game at Bucknell is also set for the network.
American Sports Network is a sports programming initiative of Sinclair Networks Group, a division of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., one of the largest and most diversified television broadcasting companies in the country today. Sinclair's television group reaches approximately 37.5 percent of US television households and includes FOX, ABC, MyTV, CW, CBS, NBC, Univision and Azteca affiliates. ASN was founded in July 2014.
In total, six Patriot League basketball games will air on American Sports Network. The women's game vs. Holy Cross is set for Sunday, Jan. 17 at 3 p.m. in Stabler Arena. Last season, Lehigh and Holy Cross squared off in the Patriot League Quarterfinals, a game which the Mountain Hawks won, 75-62. Along with being televised across various outlets nation-wide, all American Sports Network games will also be streamed live through the Patriot League Network.
Lehigh's men's game at Bucknell on Wednesday, Feb. 10 is set for American Sports Network. The teams finished first and third, respectively, in last year's Patriot League standings. Lehigh and Bucknell split the two meetings a season ago with the Mountain Hawks winning the most recent matchup in convincing fashion, 84-65.
Both teams will begin practice over the weekend as they prepare for the season ahead. Check back to Lehighsports.com for continued updates on the Mountain Hawks.
