Mountain Hawks have strong first day at Bucknell Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – A strong second round 309 moved the Lehigh women's golf team into fourth place after day one of the Bucknell Fall Invitational Saturday at the Bucknell Golf Club. Three Mountain Hawks shot 76 or better in the afternoon to improve upon an opening round 317 as Lehigh sits at 626 after 36 holes. Lehigh is currently fourth out of 14 teams.

Junior Elizabeth McGarrigle is leading the way for the Mountain Hawks at 11 over par 151. McGarrigle had a pair of birdies in the morning en route to a 76 then carded four birdies in the afternoon on the way to a 75. She is tied for sixth place.

Sophomore Megan Moylan and freshman Aileen Jeong also contributed rounds of 76 in the afternoon. Moylan opened with a 79 and is tied for 13th at 155, while Jeong improved five strokes from a first round 81 to move into a tie for 20th place at 157.

Also competing as part of Lehigh's scoring team were senior Nicole Feierberg and freshman Raegan Jahn. Feierberg shot rounds of 81 and 82 and is tied for 41st place at 163 while Jahn is tied for 53rd at 170 (87-83).

Sophomore Casey Farmer competed as an individual and opened with an impressive 75 before shooting 85 in the afternoon. Farmer is tied for 30th place at 160.

Fairleigh Dickinson leads the team race after 36 holes at 607 (299-308). The Knights lead Princeton by seven strokes, while Richmond sits in third, eight shots off the pace. Lehigh enters the final round trailing by 19.

Megan Tenhundfeld of Seton Hall holds the individual lead at seven over par 147 following rounds of 73 and 74. She leads FDU's Gabriela Santini by one stroke.
The Bucknell Invitational concludes Sunday with the final 18 holes from the Bucknell Golf Club.
