Freshman Jeong leads Lehigh on day one of of Towson Invitational

PHOENIX, Md. – The Lehigh women's golf season opened its fall season with a score of 37 over par 325 on day one of the Tignanelli Towson Invitational Sunday at Eagles Nest Country Club. The 325 places the Mountain Hawks in 11th place in the 19-team field after the opening 18 holes of play.

Freshman Dawon Jeong led the way for the Mountain Hawks with a three over par 75 that included a pair of birdies. Jeong is tied for third place overall, one stroke behind leaders Jenny Buchanan of Towson and Anneke Strobach of Fairleigh Dickinson.

Senior Nicole Feierberg carded Lehigh's second lowest round Sunday, a 79 to tie for 15th after day one.

The remainder of Lehigh's scoring team consisted of junior Elizabeth McGarrigle, freshman Reagan Jahn and sophomore Casey Farmer. McGarrigle shot 82 and is tied for 50th place, while Jahn is tied for 85th after an 89. Farmer shot 93 and sits in 93rd place.

Sophomore Megan Moylan competed as an individual and shot 79 to join the group that includes Feierberg that is tied for 15th.

The host Towson Tigers shot 308 as a team to take the team lead by five strokes over Fairleigh Dickinson. Hartford (316), Bethune-Cookman (317) and Monmouth (318) completed the top five.
