Beauchamp named to CoSIDA Academic All-District Team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh men's track and field senior Benjamin Beauchamp has been named to the 2014-15 Capital One Academic All-District II Team for his outstanding athletic and academic achievements, as announced by CoSIDA Friday.
The 2015 Academic All-District Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. The teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. District II includes schools from Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, West Virginia and the District of Columbia in addition to Pennsylvania.
Beauchamp holds a 3.76 grade point average as an Electrical Engineering major. He finished fifth in both the hammer throw (57.39 meters) and the discus throw (49.30 meters) with IC4A-qualifying marks at the outdoor Patriot League Championship meet. He then went on to compete in both events at the IC4A championships, finishing tenth in the hammer throw and 11th in the discus. Beauchamp is a three-time Academic All-Patriot League selection and also earned a spot on the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District Team.
A native of Spencer, N.Y., Beauchamp will be in the running for Academic All-America honors, which will be awarded in June after another vote from CoSIDA members.
