Kelly Moylan named to Academic All-Patriot League team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh senior Kelly Moylan has been named to the women's golf Academic All-Patriot League team for the second time in her career, it was announced Friday. Moylan and the Mountain Hawks finished second at the Patriot League Championship. Her score of 236 (81-77-78) was good enough for a sixth place individual finish and second team All-Patriot League honors.
A team captain in 2015, Moylan was an All-Patriot League performer three times in her career and was also a member of the Mountain Hawks team that won the inaugural Patriot League Women's Golf Championship in 2013. Moylan's low round of the 2015 season came at the Chesapeake Bay Invitational last Septemeber, where she shot a 76 in the opening round. On top of owning the lowest stroke average for the Mountain Hawks (79.1), Moylan also led Lehigh in five tournaments in 2015.
Moylan was one of just five golfers that were voted to the team. Those five best combine golf and academics. To be eligible for the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor. The team is voted on by the league's sports information directors.
Off the course, Moylan has a 3.68 cumulative GPA as a Materials Science and Engineering Major. She made Lehigh's Dean's List, which requires a GPA of at least 3.6, in five of her first seven semesters. Moylan has also been a multi-time recipient of Lehigh Faculty Athletics Council Academic Award, which goes to student-athletes with a GPA of at least 3.2.
Upon graduation, Moylan will be working at the Lord Corporation, where she will focus on vibrational damping for military helicopters and jet engines.
Emily Tillo of Patriot League Champion Boston University was voted Scholar-Athlete of the Year for women's golf.
