DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Freshman Casey Farmer and sophomore Elizabeth McGarrigle carded rounds of 79 to lead the Lehigh women's golf team on day one of the Lonnie Barton Invitational Monday on the LPGA International Jones Course. Farmer is one of five scoring players for the Mountain Hawks in their spring-opening tournament while McGarrigle is one of three Lehigh players competing as an individual.

As a team, Lehigh finished the first 18 holes at 36 over par 324 to tie for seventh in the 14-team field.

Individually, Farmer and McGarrigle are both tied for 14th place. McGarrigle was one of 13 players to card two or more birdies on Monday. Junior Nicole Feierberg shot the next lowest round for Lehigh, shooting 80 to sit in a tie for 20th. Her round features a team-best 12 pars.

Lehigh's three other scoring players are seniors Alyssa Scheyd and Kelly Moylan, and freshman Megan Moylan. Scheyd shot ten over par 82 and is tied for 35th place. Kelly Moylan is tied for 48th after an 85, while Megan shot 83 and is tied for 40th.

Junior Tess Jennings is competing as an individual and is tied for 48th after joining Kelly Moylan with an 85. Senior Melanie Dickens shot 86 and is tied for 55th place.

St. John's has the top three individuals, led by Daniella Castandeda, who shot even par 72. The Red Storm shot 302 as a team and hold at 15 shot lead over Albany, while host LIU-Brooklyn is third, 17 shots off the pace.

The Lonnie Barton Invitational will conclude Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 for the final 18 holes from the LPGA International Jones Course.
