BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh third baseman Morgan Decker has been selected as the Patriot League's Women's Player of the Year following a Twitter vote orchestrated by the league last week. Fans were encouraged to vote on Twitter in four categories with fans using designated hashtags to cast their votes in a 24-hour period for each award.

In her sophomore season, Decker captured her second consecutive Patriot League Player of the Year award after leading Lehigh to its third consecutive Patriot League regular season title. Decker batted .419 in 2014 and led the Patriot League with nine home runs, a .725 slugging percentage and a .548 on base percentage. She also garnered first team All-Patriot League honors for the second consecutive season and was recognized as a NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region selection and an ECAC All-Star for the second year in a row.

In addition to her on-field exploits, Decker earned Capital One Academic All-District honors and was selected to the Academic All-Patriot League team this past season. Last week, the behavioral neuroscience major was named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Decker led all award winners in votes with 32 supporters tweeting in the hashtag #DeckerPOY during the voting process last week. Army women's basketball sophomore Kelsey Minato finished second in the Women's Player of the Year voting with Navy soccer defender Jade Seabrook, Loyola lacrosse midfielder Marlee Paton and Boston University Track and Field athlete Allison Barwise also recognized as finalists.
