BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team kicks off a busy stretch to close out the regular season when the Mountain Hawks host Bucknell Wednesday in their final home match. The Bucknell match will be followed by road Patriot League matches at Navy, Lafayette and Loyola that will prep the Mountain Hawks for the Patriot League Tournament at West Point, N.Y. beginning April 24.

Last time out the Mountain Hawks posted a 6-1 win over Colgate on senior day Saturday on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. The victory gave Lehigh its first league win of the season and snapped a modest two match slide. Fittingly, it was senior Mark Goldberg who claimed the clinching point at No. 1 singles to give Lehigh a win on a day where he and classmate Timur Chernykh were honored.

Lehigh was also bolstered by the return of junior Mitchell Petersen, who missed the Army match due to injury. Petersen posted a win at No. 3 singles and teamed with Goldberg for a win at the No. 1 doubles flight as well.

In all, Lehigh won two doubles matches and five singles matches to improve to 9-6 on the season and 1-1 in league matches.

Bucknell enters Wednesday's match at 3-14 overall, with two of the three wins coming in league play where the Bison carry a 2-3 record. On Sunday, the Bison stopped a five match losing stream with a 5-2 road win at Lafayette. Bucknell also owns wins over Loyola and Mount St. Mary's this season.

Last year Lehigh and Bucknell split two matches, with the Bison upsetting the Mountain Hawks 4-3 during the regular season in Lewisburg, and Lehigh outlasting Bucknell by the same score in a marathon Patriot League semifinal on its way to its first ever league tournament title.

Wednesday's match is set for 3:30 p.m. from Lehigh's Lewis Tennis Center.

Following Wednesday's match, Lehigh will visit Navy Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in a rematch of last year's Patriot League title match. The Mids are 15-9 overall and 2-2 league matches. Like Bucknell, Navy's match against Lehigh will mark its final Patriot League match of the regular season.

The Mountain Hawks will close out the regular season with matches Monday at rival Lafayette and Tuesday at Loyola in a match that was rescheduled from March 30.
