BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh track and field team will send athletes to two separate meets this weekend as the Mountain Hawks continue preparations for the Patriot League Championship meet that looms just four weeks away. Lehigh will head across the bridge to compete in Moravian's Coach Pollard Invitiational Friday and Saturday before sending athletes to Bucknell's Bison Classic Saturday and Sunday.

Action gets under way at Morvian's Timothy Breidegam Track and Rocco Calvo Field at 4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. Field events kick off the Bison Classic on Bucknell's West Fields at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Mountain Hawk women look to build off a 107-96 win over rival Lafayette last weekend, while the men aim to improve upon a slim 102-101 loss to the Leopards. The women were led by senior Brooke Astor with four first-place finishes, including an ECAC qualifying long jump. Freshman Courtney Avery earned Patriot League Rookie of the Week recognition followed a victory in the high jump. Sophomore Elizabeth Weiler won both the 1500 meter and 5000 meter runs, while other event winners included senior Jessica Kendzor in the 800 meter run and the 4x400 meter relay team.

Senior Benjamin Beauchamp led the men's team with an IC4A qualifying discus throw of 50.11m that earned first place. Lehigh's entire long jump and triple jump squads each set new personal records in their respective events as the Mountain Hawks showed their strength in the field events. First-place finishers for the men included freshman Christopher Del Rossi (400m), junior Christopher Watson (800m), senior Nicholas Molloy (1500m) and junior Simon Voorhees (5000m).

The Mountain Hawks combined to register eight regional qualifiers at last year's Coach Pollard Invite and Bison Classic. Returning qualifiers include Watson, junior Justin Mahoney and senior Martin Otieno as part of the IC4A qualifying 4x400m relay team and senior Tyler Mueller in the 10,000 meter run.

The Mountain Hawks continue preparations for Patriot League Championships next weekend at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invite.
