BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team will host a pair of matches this weekend inside the Lewis Tennis Center as the Mountain Hawks will meet Stony Brook on Saturday before welcoming Delaware on Sunday.

The Mountain Hawks bounced back from their first loss of the season at Penn State to blank Mount St. Mary's 7-0 last Sunday. Lehigh is now 5-1 on the season and has won 18 straight home matches dating back to the 2012 season.

Despite missing two starters the Mountain Hawks pulled together with senior Timur Chernykh, sophomore Jeremy Kochman and freshmen Jason Sutker and Ethan Bogard moving up the ladder to post singles wins. Junior Ben Gilman clinched the match with a win at No. 1 singles, while classmate Mitchell Petersen moved to a team-best 5-1 in singles play with a win at the No. 2 singles flight. Gilman leads Lehigh with four doubles wins, three of which came playing alongside Kochman at the No. 2 flight.

Lehigh will first put its home win streak on the line against Stony Brook. The Seawolves are 1-1 on the season with a win over Connecticut and a tight 4-3 loss to Patriot League member Army. Stony Brook will play Temple on Friday in Bethlehem before battling the Mountain Hawks on Saturday.

Delaware is off to a 2-1 start with wins over Howard and Loyola and a 4-3 loss to Quinnipiac. The Blue Hens will face Swarthmore on Saturday before visiting Lehigh on Sunday.

Lehigh and Stony Brook have met in each of the last two years with the Mountain Hawks winning 6-1 last year and the Seawolves winning 4-3 in 2012. The Mountain Hawks will face Delaware for the seventh straight season. Lehigh has won the last two matches in the series while Delaware won the previous four.

Both matches are slated for 2 p.m. starts from the Lewis Tennis Center with Lehigh facing Stony Brook Saturday and Delaware on Sunday.

Next weekend Lehigh will kick off spring break with home matches against Marist on Saturday March 1 and Bryant on Sunday March 2.
