Mountain Hawks battle, but fall short against defending MAAC champ Rider

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After a hard fought battle Friday night against West Chester, the Lehigh men's swimming and diving team put forth another strong effort Saturday at Jacobs Pool as the Mountain Hawks fell to defending MAAC champion Rider by a close 158-136 margin.
"We set this weekend up with two strong teams to simulate the kind of energy needed at our championships" said head coach Rob Herb
The Mountain Hawks were led by sophomore Jacob Moyar, who won the 1000 free
(9:46.37) and 200 butterfly (1:54.58). Senior Sean Brant also gained wins in the 100 back (52.65) and 200 back (1:55.47) in Lehigh's hard fought battle.
Sophomore Jamal Willis continued to lead the sprinters, winning the 50 free (21.17). Sophomore Justin White finished the day with a second place finish in the 100 free (47.27), while junior Jake Hassel finished second in the 200 butterfly (1:55.77)
The men won the 400 free relay and finished second in the 200 medley relay.
Senior Dan Bateman competed well against Rider's divers, finishing second in both the one meter and the three meter dives.
Lehigh (1-3) will next compete at Colgate on Saturday, November 1.
