BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh men's tennis team will host the Patriot League Fall Kickoff this weekend for the Mountain Hawks' final event of the fall season. The Mountain Hawks will welcome three Patriot League opponents: Lafayette, Army and Colgate to the Goodman Campus for the three-day event.
Â
The format will allow each team to play each other in 8 singles and 4 doubles matches. The doubles matches will be played inside the Lewis Tennis Center, while singles matches will be played outside on the Ulrich Varsity Courts; and play will begin indoors and immediately move outside after a quick warm up period.Â
Â
Play will begin at 8 a.m. on Friday with Lehigh facing Army in doubles and singles and the day will finish out with Colgate taking on Lafayette at 7:15 p.m. Army's men will also be the first team to finish for the weekend, as they start earliest Friday morning.
Â
Lehigh's men will also battle Colgate Saturday morning at approximately 10:30 a.m. and will wrap-up the weekend, and the fall season, against Lafayette on Sunday morning.
Â
The team will look to Mitchell Petersen and Jack Petersen, who are both coming off tough losses at ITA Regionals last weekend, for strong performances against the three Patriot League rival teams.
Â
The Mountain Hawks will finish up their fall season as they host the Patriot League Kickoff Tournament in the Lewis Tennis Center and on the Ulrich Varsity Courts Friday through Sunday. Lehigh will begin its spring season in January 2015.
