
Two Mountain Hawks compete at ITA Regionals at National Tennis Center

QUEENS, N.Y. – Lehigh's Mitchell and Jack Petersen (no relation) tested themselves against some of the best players in the Northeast region when they competed last weekend at the USTA/ITA Northeast Regionals at the USTA Indoor National Tennis Center. Both players competed in singles and as a doubles team last week.
Senior Mitchell Petersen was the first man up for Lehigh has he faced Max Fleigner of Dartmouth in the qualifying draw. Fleigner eliminated Petersen with a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Jack Petersen, a freshman, was placed directly into the main draw where he fell in straight sets to Sid Hazarika of Binghamton, 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles action, the Petersens were ousted in the first round by the duo of Jose Morales and Alexandre Felisa of Stony Brook.
The Mountain Hawks will close out their fall season when they host the three-day Patriot League kickoff, beginning Friday at the Lewis Tennis Center and on the Ulrich Varsity Courts.
