Lehigh returns to New Jersey for Princeton Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh women's golf team is preparing to play in the Princeton Invitational this weekend in New Jersey; the Mountain Hawks' final road tournament of the fall before they cap off the fall season next weekend when they host the Lehigh Invitational.

Princeton will host the 54-hole tournament Saturday and Sunday at Springdale Golf Club in New Jersey.

The Mountain Hawks are coming off of a strong performance last week at the Rutgers Invitational where they placed seventh out of 17 teams. They have played well in the fall, finishing seventh out of 17 teams at Bucknell and fourth out of 15 at Navy last month.

Battling wet conditions in Saturday's final round at Rutgers, the Mountain Hawks finished with a total score of 644 (321-323), landing just four strokes outside of the top five.

Senior captain Kelly Moylan led the way for Lehigh as the top individual finisher, tying for 17th with a total of 156 after back-to-back rounds of 78. After a slow start on Friday, junior Nicole Feierberg was able to match Moylan for Lehigh's low round on the weekend, with a 78 Saturday and tied for 21st overall with a 159 (81-78).

There are twelve teams participating in the Princeton Invitational and they are: Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Delaware, Lehigh, Navy, Penn, Princeton, Rollins, St. Johns, Seton Hall and Yale.

Following a practice round on Friday, the Princeton Invitational will begin with 36 holes Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. Lehigh's first player will go off the tenth tee at 9:10 a.m. The Mountain Hawks will play with Delaware and Brown over the first two rounds.

Lehigh is playing in the Princeton Invitational for the second straight year. Last year Patriot League Golfer of the Year Crystal Lee led the Mountain Hawks, while Feierberg was tops among Lehigh players who will compete this weekend.

The Mountain Hawks will host the Lehigh Invitational October 26-27 on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club.
