BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh swimming and diving teams will travel to Philadelphia to compete against Drexel in the last dual meet of the season on Saturday.

Despite a strong showing, both Lehigh teams are coming off Senior Day losses against Bucknell last Saturday at Jacobs Pool. The men's team suffered a 179-119 loss and now stands at 5-5 in dual meets this season. The women's team fell 172-122 and is 6-2 in duals.

For the men's team, Lehigh freshmen delivered two of Lehigh's three individual event wins. Jamal Willis captured the 50 yard freestyle with a Jacobs Pool record time of 20.73 and freshman Jacob Moyar won the 1000 yard freestyle in 9:42.82. Junior Danny Bennett won the 500 free in 4:43.46 and Moyar finished second.

The Mountain Hawk men also won the 200 medley relay, composed of senior Chris Hoke, junior Martin Kendig, sophomore Jake Hassel and freshman Justin White.

Freshman Kaitlyn Ruffing led the women against the Bison, winning two individual events. She was also part of both winning relay teams. She set a new Jacobs Pool record in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 52.23 seconds, edging teammate Carolyn Koch for the win. Ruffing also won the 50 free in 23.80 seconds and Koch once again finished just behind her in second.

Sophomore Courtney Patterson posted Lehigh's other individual event win as she led a sweep in the 200 free in 1:54.57. Freshman Kelly Carroll finished second to Patterson and Koch took third.

The Lehigh women also won both relays, with juniors Alissa Leung, Kimberly Weyand and Mary Samuels teaming with Ruffing to win the 200 medley relay in 1:54.24. Ruffing joined Carroll, Patterson and Koch to capture the 400 free relay in a time of 3:32.79.

The Drexel men's and women's swimming and diving teams are coming off wins over Georgetown last Saturday. The men finished 161-125 while the women took the meet 156-141.

Drexel's men stand at 8-1 and the women at 6-4 in dual meets this season.

On the men's side sophomore Kyle Lukens, junior Mike Krohn, junior Alex Chialstri, senior Greg Oprendek, junior Chad Schmidt, junior Andrew Reimon, and sophomore Joel Berryman are all strong middle distance swimmers who competed at the AT&T National Meet in December.

For the Drexel women freshman Rachel Bernhardt, junior Katie Duggan, senior Gizem Yali and junior Brianna Bentz have led the team in relay and individual events throughout the season.

Action begins at 1 p.m. from Drexel's Pool inside the Daskalakis Athletic Center.

The Mountain Hawks will then have two weeks off to train before the Patriot League Championships, which begin on February 19 in Annapolis, Md. Lehigh was originally scheduled to send a contingent to the All Corners Invite at Navy but the Mountain Hawks have instead decided to send a full squad to Drexel.
