BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh swimming and diving teams return to the pool Friday after a layoff of nearly two weeks, as the Mountain Hawks head to New Jersey to take part in the two-day Princeton Open.

The Lehigh men powered past Colgate and NJIT in their last meet, November 2 at Jacobs Pool. Junior Danny Bennett led the way for Lehigh with three individual event wins on the day. The freshman continued to shine for the Mountain Hawks as Jacob Moyar, Jamal Willis and Kevin Huntley all posted individual victories as well. Finally, junior Dan Bateman swept the diving events scoring 231.30 points in both the one meter and three meter events.

On the women's side, Lehigh is off to its best start in recent memory as the Mountain Hawks stand at 4-0 coming off a 183.5-97.5 win over Colgate, Lehigh's first win over the Raiders in women's swimming and diving since 2004. Sophomore Courtney Patterson led the way for Lehigh with three individual wins on the day. Freshman Kaitlyn Ruffing excelled once again in the sprints where she took first in both the 50 and 100 free.

Lehigh has enjoyed individual success at Princeton's DeNunzio pool over the last two years. In 2011, Demetri Karedis set a school record in the 50 yard freestyle, while last year Patterson bested a tough field in the 200 free en route to Patriot League Female Swimmer of the Week honors.

The host Princeton Tigers will open their season this weekend and headline the field Lehigh will compete against. The Tiger men have won five straight Ivy League titles, while the women have won 11 of the last 14.

Action begins Friday at 6 p.m. from DeNunzio pool with the unscored meet continuing through Saturday afternoon.

Following this weekend's meet the Mountain Hawks will host rival Lafayette at Jacobs Pool on Friday, November 22. Diving events are set for 3 p.m. while the swimming portion begins at 6 p.m.
