BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Lehigh field hockey team has adopted local youngster Alison Sehee to the team this season, making a difference in the life of a youngster through Team Impact. The Mountain Hawks "drafted" Alison in August and she's been a significant part of the team ever since.
Â
"I was contacted by the program Team Impact about Alison and her love for sports and thought she would be an amazing addition to our team and what we're about here at Lehigh," said head coach Stacey Blue.

Â
Alison attends practices and games whenever possible (approximately once per week) and is an integral member of the Lehigh field hockey family.
Â
"The team loves Alison; we are a family and whenever we have additions to our family, they are always welcome with open arms," said Blue. "The impact the team has on her is far less than what she gives to the team. Alison is one of a kind and can always make you laugh and smile."
Â
"Not many people are given this opportunity to take someone in," said senior Erinn Bonshak. "Seeing the amazing things that Alison does and the way she interacts with us and reacts to things really puts a smile on our face."
Â
Alison brings tremendous energy and a positive attitude to the Mountain Hawks.
Â
"She's been through so much and she's still such a positive energy," said senior Caitlyn Mitchell. "If we are down on ourselves, she really helps put things in perspective."
Â
"You see Alison run from her car to our field," said Bonshak. "She's always excited and picks up the team. We want to make her happy and play well for her."
Â
The Mountain Hawks continue to make the difference in the lives of others. Last fall, the team came together in support of teammate Kelsey Zeswitz whose mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Zeswitz helped organized a Fox Trot 5K for Parkinson's research with the help of her teammates.
Â
Then over the summer, several Mountain Hawks supported sophomore Lindsey Schott by helping raise funds and competing in a Mud Run for Multiple Sclerosis. Twenty one years ago, Schott's mother Diana was diagnosed with MS at an eye doctor's appointment.
Â
"Alison comes to many practices and games to cheer on the girls and I know the LU girls have been to some of her volleyball practices as well," said Blue.
Â
"We went to one of her Special Olympics volleyball practices," said senior Marie Mignogna. "They loved it and were so excited that we were there. She comes and sees us in our element then we were able to see her in her element. That was really special."
Â
"I always think it's important to give back; it doesn't matter whether you're on a team or not," said Blue. "It shows much more character to care about others more than yourself. The relationship between LU and Alison is pure and genuine. We all learn something new every day."
Â
The Mountain Hawks remain home for two games this weekend, hosting new Patriot League member Boston University on Saturday (12 p.m.) and Lock Haven on Sunday (1 p.m.).
