Lehigh finishes fall season strong at Patriot League Kickoff

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's tennis team wrapped up its fall season this weekend at the Mountain Hawks hosted the Patriot League Kickoff inside the Lewis Tennis Center and on the Ulrich Varsity Courts. The team battled Army, Colgate, and rival Lafayette over three days of doubles and singles competition
Lehigh began the tournament in strong fashion winning all three double matches against Lafayette Friday evening and five of the six singles matches against the Leopards on Saturday. Senior Mark Goldberg teamed with freshman Tyler Hansen at the top doubles flight, while junior Ben Gilman and sophomore Jeremy Kochman played second doubles and junior Mitchell Petersen and freshman Jason Sutker played third doubles.
Momentum continued into Saturday afternoon when the Mountain Hawks took three of four doubles matches from Army. The Mountain Hawks also took four of the seven singles matches with Gilman, Petersen, Kochman and freshman Colin Nardella winning against the Black Knights. Petersen enjoyed a perfect weekend, winning all three doubles matches and all three singles matches.
Sunday Lehigh battled Colgate with the Mountain Hawks winning three of four doubles matches and four of seven singles matches. Gilman, Petersen, Kochman and Sutker posted singles wins over the Raiders.

The Mountain Hawks will now begin preparations for the spring season, which begins January 19 against Drexel.
