Lehigh opens action at Yale Fall Collegiate

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Lehigh women's golf team returned to the links on Saturday at the Yale Fall Intercollegiate, which began with 36 holes Saturday at the Yale University Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks ended day one tied for tenth in the 14-team field with a score of 631. The host Bulldogs hold a six-shot lead over Penn entering the tournament's final day.
Individually, sophomore Chelsea Michalek leads the Brown and White as she sits in a tie for 19th place with a nine-over 153 (79, 74). Classmate Ginette Schapira is tied for 35th at 157 (80, 77), while senior Emily Endres shot a 162 (79, 83) and is tied for 45th.
Also competing for Lehigh were junior Taylor Orr who shot a 167 (83, 84) and freshman Hannah Kim who posted a 168 in her first two college rounds.
Penn's Isabel Han shot a three-under 141 to lead the field after day one. Yale's Seo Hee Moon and Penn's Rui Li are tied for second, two shots off the pace. The host Bulldogs lead the team race with a score of 589, followed by Penn (595), Boston College (604), Fairleigh Dickinson (609) and St. John's (615). Lehigh is tied with Hartford for tenth.
The Yale Fall Intercollegiate concludes with 18 holes Sunday morning.
