Lehigh to conclude season in New York

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women’s golf team will conclude its 2010 spring season this weekend as the Mountain Hawks travel to Suffern, New York to compete at the fourth annual Roar EE Invite. Action will get underway on Friday from Spook Rock Golf Course, which features 6,894 yards of golf and is a par-72 course. Spook Rock opened in 1969 and was designed by Francis J. Duane.
At last year’s Roar EE Invitational, the Mountain Hawks finished seventh in the ten-school tournament with a two-round score of 661 (326, 335). Livia Amado was the Brown and White’s top finisher as she shot a 159 (76, 83) and tied for 17th place overall. Princeton won the team crown with a score of 612 (302, 310), while Fairleigh Dickinson’s Eva Mayr was the individual champion after shooting a 150 (71, 79).
Lehigh was last in action March 29-30 when the Mountain Hawks traveled to Maryland to compete at the Hoya Invite. Lehigh shot a 698 (344, 354) over the course of 36 holes and placed 15th in the 17-team tournament. Amado and Chelsea Michalek were Lehigh’s top finishers after they shot identical 173s and tied for 64th place.
Action in New York will get underway Friday morning with the final round slated to begin on Saturday morning.
