Mountain Hawks post top-five finish in Lewisburg

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Led by senior Livia Amado’s seventh place finish, Lehigh moved up two spots from the first day of action to finish fifth at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday.  The Mountain Hawks shot a 950 as a team (318, 320, 312), while Amado posted a score of 230 (81, 75, 74) over the course of the 54 holes.  William & Mary held onto the top spot in the team standings as the Tribe shot an 893 (294, 301, 298) and they were followed by Marshall (313, 311, 305 = 929), Columbia (313, 315, 310 = 938), Bucknell (318, 315, 315, 948) and the Mountain Hawks. 

 

Emily Endres completed a solid opening weekend of the fall season as she placed 15th overall with a score of 237 (79, 79, 79), while Taylor Orr tied for 19th place with a 240 (80, 83, 77).  Other Mountain Hawks that competed included freshman Ginette Schapira as she shot a 246 (78, 86, 82) and tied for 35th place and Ana Nam who tied for 43rd place with a score of 251 (83, 83, 85).

 

Lehigh’s second five unit consisted of Chelsea Michalek who shot a 243 (80, 83, 80) and tied for 26th overall, Natalie Lansing who tied for 29th after totaling a 244 (81, 84, 79), Jen Nagel who shot a 248 (86, 80, 82), Jasmin Hughes (86, 83, 81 = 250) and Rosie Davies (85, 83, 83 = 251).

 

Three players from William & Mary claimed the top individual spots as Caroline Sweet won the tournament with a 220 (72, 74, 74), Sarah Whiney finished second with a 222 (75, 74, 73) and Morgan Stepanek tied for third place with a 224 (72, 77, 75).  Larie Lynch from Marshall also tied for the third spot overall.

 

The Mountain Hawks will return to the links on September 19 when they travel to New Jersey to compete in the two-day Princeton Invitational.
