Two Mountain Hawks finish in top-20 in N.J.

PRINCETON, N.J. – Livia Amado and Ginette Schapira posted top-20 finishes as Lehigh finished action at the Princeton Invitational on Sunday afternoon in the 12-team tournament. Amado shot a 154 (76, 78) and finished in a tie for 12th place, while Schapira finished with a 155 (79, 76) which was good for a 16th place tie. The Mountain Hawks shot a 644 as a team (325, 319) and finished in a tie for eighth place in the team standings along with St. John’s (328, 316). Rollins college shot a 297 on Sunday to finish five strokes ahead of Harvard with a 602 for the weekend (305, 297) and the Crimson checked in with a 607 (301, 306).
Along with Amado and Schapira three other Mountain Hawks competed this weekend, including Taylor Orr who shot a 166 (84, 82) and tied for 44th place, Chelsea Michalek who shot a 169 (86, 83) and tied for 49th place and Emily Endres who finished in 57th place after shooting a 174 (87, 87).
Joanne Coe (75, 71 = 146) of Rollins won the individual crown by two shots in front of Harvard’s Christine Cho (73, 75 = 148) and Princeton’s Anna Jang (72, 76 = 148), with Brianna Soe of Rollins placing fourth with a 149 (76, 73).
Lehigh will return to action in two weeks at the ECAC Championship, which is held in Williamsburg, Virginia. The two-day competition is slated to take place the weekend of October 3-4.
