Amado and Lehigh in first after one day at Rutgers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Junior Livia Amado shot a 74 and leads the Rutgers Invitational after 18 holes of golf, while as a team, Lehigh leads the 16-team tournament with a 317. Rounding out the top-five in the team standings are Albany (318), Boston College (319), Fairleigh Dickinson (320) and Hampton (324). Amado shot a 35 on the back nine on Friday, the third lowest nine hole total of the day. Teammate Ana Nam is currently in 16th place with a 78, while Jen Nagel sits in 16th place after shooting a 79.
Other Mountain Hawks that competed on Friday include Ashley Amador who shot an 86 and is currently tied for 50th place, and Taylor Orr who is tied for 64th place with an 88.
Amado’s first round score of 74 is one stroke ahead of second place Lisette Vitter of Penn and Corrin Conroy of Albany. Three golfers are tied for fourth place with a 76, and in all 16 golfers shot under an 80 on Friday.
Action from New Jersey is slated to get back underway at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning.
