Lehigh has two IC4A qualifiers at meet

NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Mountain Hawks ran in their final meet before the Patriot League Championships and had two IC4A qualifiers, at the Lafayette-Rider Invitational.  Scott Robinson ran a personal best time of 1:04.65 in the 500 meter run and Sarah Serwo broke the school record in the 800 meter run, with a time of 2:14.20.  Serwo’s time in the 800 broke the school record by almost three seconds and beat her career best time by over four seconds.  The women's 4x400 meter relay team also broke the school record, with a time of 3:56.68

 

Robinson also had a top-10 time in the 60 meter high hurdles, finishing the race in 8.69 seconds.  Senior Kyle Manning had a personal best time in the 800 meter run, crossing the finish line in 1:54.03, good for third all-time.

 

In the men’s field events, Khalil Uqdah and Domenic Aversa both recorded heights of 3.65 meters in the pole vault.  Franklin Johnson just missed the IC4A mark in the triple jump, with a distance of 14.29 meters, 0.01 off the qualifying mark.  Nick Ray had a personal best distance in the shot put, throwing 15.10 meters, which ranks ninth all-time in school history.

 

On the women’s side Latasha Watson had three top-five times on the day.  In the 60 meter dash, she finished with a personal best time of 8.03 seconds.  Her times in the 200 (26.12 seconds) and 400 (58.45 seconds) meter runs were both personal best times and rank second all-time in school history.

 

In the 500 meter run, Jen Therkon finished with a personal best time of 1:17.99.  Shannon Alejandro had the second best time in school history in the one mile run, crossing the finish line in 5:01.53.  She missed the IC4A mark by 0.39 seconds.  Freshman Alexis Weiner also had a personal best time in the mile, finishing with the fourth best time in school history, at 5:10.61.  

 

In the field events, Ashlee Atwell and Emily Roth both cleared 3.30 meters in the pole vault, which were fourth all-time.  Renee Philbrook, Catherine Bigelow and Kathryn McLaughlin all jumped 1.60 meters in the high jump.

 

The Mountain Hawks return to action next weekend for the Patriot League Championships.  The event will be held at Bucknell beginning February 22.
