Ray named PL Rookie of the Week, five earn HM

Ray receives his first major honor from the league after earning back-to-back honorable mentions earlier this season. The
House and Schappert both return to the ECAC meet for the first time since their sophomore seasons. House is the only Mountain Hawk woman to compete in the 10,000 meter run this season. On Friday, she placed fifth in a time of 36:59.44. Meanwhile, Schappert qualified for the 5000 meter run by running a time of 17:06.72 that placed fourth.
In Swift’s race on Friday, 16 athletes ran IC4A qualifying times with five meeting the regional qualification and one runner setting a new stadium record. Swift placed eighth in the event with a time of 14:16.72, which is 21 seconds faster than the IC4A standard and four seconds off the regional qualifying time.
Horn competed in the fastest and final heat of the 400 meter hurdles on Saturday. He placed third in a time of 53.93, which was 0.01 faster than the IC4A standard.
Uqdah became the eighth Mountain Hawk in program history to clear 15-feet in the pole vault on Saturday. He jumped 15’7”, which is the IC4A standard, and placed fourth. Including the 2006-07 season, this was just the second time in Uqdah’s career in which he jumped over 15-feet.
Lehigh and its award winners return to action this weekend when the Mountain Hawks take part in the Moravian Greyhound Invitational on Saturday. Field events are scheduled to start at 10:30 am and running events begin at 11:30.
