Lehigh welcomes Bucknell in regular season finale

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh wraps up its regular season Saturday afternoon at Jacobs Pool as the Mountain Hawks host the Bucknell Bison. For the Mountain Hawks, it’s their first meet inside Jacobs Pool since mid-November, and their final chance to swim against a Patriot League foe before shifting their focus towards training for next month’s Patriot League Championships.

Both Lehigh teams are 0-2 since returning to competition following their winter training workouts. Lehigh is coming off a loss to Army Sunday at West Point. Junior Dan Johnson swept the sprint freestyle events, and senior Jon Kearney added two event wins on the men’s side, while captains Melanie Rolish and Sherri Pickens each won events on the women’s side. Today’s meet is the final home meet for Lehigh’s nine seniors.

Bucknell comes to town after sweeping Army last Saturday. The Bison men have impressed with a 5-2 dual record, while the women enter today’s meet with a 3-4 mark. Bucknell’s women placed second at last year’s Patriot League Championships, while the men finished third.

Last season, the Mountain Hawks managed a 154-146 win over the Bison in Lewisburg, while the women fell by a 209-91.

Saturday’s meet gets underway with the diving competition beginning at noon from Lehigh’s Jacobs Pool.
