“Lehigh Swimmers just keep on swimming,” said Lehigh head coach Rob Herb. “Jeff and Steve were both all time greats at Lehigh. Their passion for our sport has just continued to thrive. Each valued their experience at Lehigh and has financially supported our programs all the while quietly dominating the Master Nationals scene. Our current swimmers and divers can learn much from athletes like Jeff and Steve.”
Roddin was the top male point scorer at Lehigh when he graduated in 1991, and held the top spot for 12 years. His 435 career points currently rank second in Lehigh annals. Swimming on the masters circuit for the Montgomery Ancient Mariners, Roddin took first place in his age group and seventh overall in the 100 meter fly at the Short Course Championships and also finished second in the 100 meter IM, losing to former Olympian Roque Santos.
Hiltabiddle was very busy at the championships, adding four second place finishes to his win in the 50 fly in his age group. Hiltabiddle was a two-time East Coast Conference Champion for the Brown and White and held the school record in the 100 fly from 1988 to 2001. Swimming for Garden State Masters, Hiltabiddle added second place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyle events as well as the 100 fly and the 100 IM.
