Men picked fourth, women fifth in PL preseason poll

The Mountain Hawk men garnered 63 points in the poll, placing them fourth, one spot below where they finished at the 2005 Patriot League Championships. Second year head coach Rob Herb has three All-League performers back: sophomore Jon Kearney, the defending Patriot League champion in the 1650 yard freestyle, senior Grant Flothmeier and junior Tom Gilbert.
Lehigh’s women received 44 points, placing the Mountain Hawks fifth, right where they finished last season. Lehigh returns all three first team All-League performers on the women’s side. Senior Linda Hendrixson and juniors Betsy Balaguer and Julie Mitchell are back and looking to improve on strong performances in the pool last season.
Navy was selected to win both the men’s and women’s championships, receiving 14 of 16 votes on the men’s side and 6 votes, narrowly edging defending champion Bucknell on the women’s side.
The Mountain Hawks will open the 2005-06 season on Saturday, October 22 when they travel to
