Senior Ross Green picked up Lehigh’s first individual gold medal of this year’s championships, winning the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 49.31. It’s the second individual title in as many years for Green, who won the 200 yard IM last year. Green also picked up a second place finish, teaming with Tom Gilbert, Grant Flothmeier and Sean Herman to take second in the 200 yard medley relay. Flothmeier and Gilbert had strong individual days as well; Flothmeier finished second in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 57.06 while Gilbert took fourth in the 100 yard backstroke.
There were also some impressive performances on the women’s side, lead by Julie Mitchell’s second place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 58.07. Linda Hendrixson picked up her second third place finish of the championships, this time in the 400 yard IM with a time of 4:29.38. Betsy Balaguer raced to a fifth place finish in the 200 yard freestyle, while Laura Gray also finished fifth, in the women’s one meter dive.
