Lehigh set to visit archrival Lafayette Friday night

Lehigh swept Rider on Saturday at Jacobs Pool, as the men were victorious 139-104 over the Broncs and the women prevailed 130-107. The men got strong performances from Jonathan Kearney and the relay team of Tom Gilbert, Grant Flothmeier, Ross Green and Sean Herman as the Mountain Hawks improved to 3-0 on the year.
The women evened their season record at 2-2 as sophomore Betsy Balaguer won two events and junior Laura Gray was victorious in the three-meter dive.
“I’ve been around the Lehigh-Lafayette rivalry for a long time,” said Lehigh coach Rob Herb.
“This year, in some areas this is the closest it has ever been and I’m excited.”
Herb says he’s pleased with the depth and strength of the men’s team but believes the women’s competition may be extremely tight and competitive.
“It’s very close. Their strengths are our weaknesses and our strengths are their weaknesses.”
