League Championships underway

Annapolis, MD- Lehigh had nine swimmers qualify for finals in the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley and the 50 freestyle on Thursday, the first day of preliminaries at the Patriot League Championships, being held at Navy. The men had representatives qualify for each event. Sophomore Brian Golebiewski finished second in the 500 yard freestyle and teammates, juniors Bing Padmasankha and Jake Fletcher recorded qualifying times of 21.25 and 21.32 in the 50 freestyle. Junior Brian Quigley touched the wall in 1:56.38 in the 200 yard individual medley, with senior Jason Boire right behind him with a time of 1:56.53. The women also will be represented well in the finals. Senior Lauren Ayres and freshman Amanda Warrick finished fifth and sixth in the 500 yard free, with times of 5:04.95 and 5:04.36. In the 50 yard freestyle sophomore Linsey Kokal finished in 24.62 and junior Katy Hunchar followed close behind with a time of 24.77. Patriot League Championship action continues through Saturday February 16th. Â Â
